Stop Being Anxious
Matthew 6:25
Many seem to think that if they don't make money they won't eat. Actually most of what the animals eat is what we humans can eat. Did God make all the creatures of the earth clean for no reason? Of course not!
On the morrow, as they were going on their journey, and drew nigh to the city, Peter went up upon the house-top to pray, about the sixth hour: 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending to him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 In which were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping animals, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spoke to him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received again into heaven.Acts 10:9-16 Webster
John the Baptist ate locust and wild honey in the wildness, but the work he did was always for God, not for men. Now if we are picky about what we eat and make a huge fuss over it, then we can work as Paul did; however, he made enough money to pay for what was sufficient.
Slaves belonging to Christian masters must not despise them, for they are believers too. Instead, they are to serve them even better, because those who benefit from their work are believers whom they love. You must teach and preach these things. 3 Whoever teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching of our religion 4 is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has an unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words, and this brings on jealousy, disputes, insults, evil suspicions, 5 and constant arguments from people whose minds do not function and who no longer have the truth. They think that religion is a way to become rich. 6 Well, religion does make us very rich, if we are satisfied with what we have. 7 What did we bring into the world? Nothing! What can we take out of the world? Nothing! 8 So then, if we have food and clothes, that should be enough for us. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and are caught in the trap of many foolish and harmful desires, which pull them down to ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Some have been so eager to have it that they have wandered away from the faith and have broken their hearts with many sorrows. 11 But you, man of God, avoid all these things. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses.1 Timothy 6:2-12 GNB
Before times get tough we should prepare ourselves by becoming aware of all the kinds of foods we can eat before hand. Many people have become far to comfortable and it's highly likely that many would starve to death if placed in a situation, that forced them to completely rely on their surrounding natural elements. It is also easy to lose sight of the kingdom if we're overly concerned with making money to place food in our stomachs. There are all kinds of resources provided by God that would supply us with clothing and food. The Native Americans did it, Adam and Eve did it, and many others have done it. There really is no excuse of not devoting ourselves to God with 100% of our time. If we are so in love with the things of the nations, then that boils down to being in love with money. If we are in love with money then we are not in love with God, and if we are not in love with God, we are dead.
